Open Play

A coach watches your tape.

Open Play AI Coach watches your tape and sends a developmental plan and one cue.

Ask about availability

Reach out to the team for availability. We will write back about whether we can take the tape.

Who it’s for

Rec open play. The games you already play, with the people who show up.

You do not need a tournament calendar, a rating story, or a camera operator. You need a phone, a fence or a bag, and a session you would have played anyway.

If you leave the courts with three things you “should” fix and remember none of them, this is for you. If you want a highlight reel, it is not.

We coach the version of your game you are willing to open. Not the one you describe in the parking lot.

What you send

A phone tape of your rec games. Wide enough to see both kitchens. Behind one baseline is enough. Chest-high on the fence is enough.

One session. The games you actually played. No edit. No music. No need to narrate.

If we cannot see contact, bounce, and your feet, we will say so and ask for another angle. That is not a judgment of your game. It is the tape.

Do not send someone else’s private session. Send yours.

What you get

A developmental plan and one cue.

The plan is what to work on next, in the games you already play. The cue is the one thing you can hold in a stack. Not seven. One.

A coach watches your tape. That coach is Open Play AI Coach. We will not pretend a person sat in the dark for an hour if they did not. We will not invent a finding the tape does not support.

You do not get a score. You do not get a ranking. You get something you can take to the next open play.

How it works

1

Record

Phone on the fence or a bag, behind one baseline, your normal rec games.

2

Send

Ask, and we will tell you how to get the tape to us.

3

Cue

We watch, we write the plan, we give you one cue.

That is the whole path. Reach out to the team for availability. We will write back about whether we can take the tape.

What coaching looks like

We already do this work on public rec tape. Thirteen sessions have been coached. The through-line you can see is Arrive low: kitchen battles lost on arrival, not on the swing.

That pairs with kitchen posture. Chest over toes, paddle ready, hold the line. The clip is the proof. The insight is the cue. Same job, two surfaces.

When we coach your tape, you get that shape of attention: one pattern we can see, one thing to do next time. We will not walk your private points on this page. The library is what coaching looks like. Your tape stays yours.

Honest limit

Untagged stays untagged.

If the tape does not show it, we will not name it. If we did not measure it, we will not dress it up as measured. Seen is seen. Inferred is inferred. We will say which.

A messy angle, a missing kitchen, a partner out of frame: we work with what is there, or we ask for another session. We do not fill gaps with a story about your game.

FAQ

  1. Is a phone on the fence enough?

Yes. Chest-high, behind one baseline, both kitchens in frame. If we cannot see contact, bounce, and your feet, we will say so.

  2. How long a session?

The rec games you already played. A short stack is enough if the angle is honest. You do not need an hour of highlights.

  3. Who sees my tape?

We watch it to coach you. We will not put your private points on the public site. The clips on this page are the public coaching library, not your session.

  4. Do I need to be a certain level?

No. Rec open play is the level. If you play, you can send it.

  5. What if the tape is messy?

Send it anyway if the ball and your feet are visible. If it is not usable, we will ask for another angle. We will not invent a cue from a tape we cannot see.
